Real Madrid's Lucas Vazquez showed the winning mentality with which his team will visit City in the Champions League quarter-final second leg at the Etihad Stadium, after staying strong as La Liga leaders with their 1-0 win at Mallorca.
"We're very good, we're in good momentum. We are having a good final stretch of the season and the team is at a great level both collectively and individually. Almost all the players are performing wonderfully and we go into Wednesday with a great desire to win the game, to get through the quarters and reach the semi-finals. We also want to win the Champions League," he told the club's media.
Lucas highlighted the team's work in the 1-0 win at Son Moix, the adaptation to what the game required and, above all, the importance of not having conceded a goal.
"There are many things to highlight. It was a very complicated game in which the team needed to play a different kind of football, with more fight than in other games. The team did a great job and the victory is more than deserved," he said.
"The solidity is what makes us the leaders. The team is having a great season. La Liga is the competition of consistency and the team is showing that it is at a very good level. We knew the importance of a clean sheet. It's a very important victory for this league," he added.
