According to L’Équipe , Malick Fofana (18) will likely sign for Olympique Lyonnais today from Gent for €15 million.
The Lyon sporting director, David Friio, appears to have convinced the young star of the Belgian league on the project building within France despite fierce competition from the Premier League and Bundesliga. Fofana will reportedly sign a four-and-a-half-year contract with the club keeping him in Ligue 1 until 2028.
The young Belgian is capable of playing on both wings, as well as through the centre as a striker and is considered to be of a profile similar to summer signing Ernest Nuamah (20); tricky and dynamic on the ball.
This transfer will likely mark another name in the growing list of additions to come through Les Gones ’s doors this window as they attempt to improve on their poor start to the season.
Fofana will look to join the already confirmed acquisitions of Adryelson (25) and Lucas Perri (26) , with the club reportedly keen to bolster their squad further, as they continue their negotiations for Saïd Benrahma (28) and Nemanja Matić (35).
