According to Ignazio Genuardi, Nemanja Matić (35) is leaning towards a move to OL from Rennes and would like to join Lyon this winter. The former Manchester United midfielder has made his intentions clear that he would like to leave Roazhon Park in the January transfer window, just six months after he joined the club from Roma.
Les Gones are not the only club interested in Matić, Genuardi reports. The Serbian international midfielder from outside France with clubs from Italy and England also reportedly interested in signing the 36-year-old before the end of the transfer window. Marseille were also reportedly interested in Matić but these links have since been quashed.
Despite Nemanja Matić’s preference to join Lyon in January, Rennes would prefer to sell the experienced defensive midfielder abroad rather than sell to a divisional rival, according to Ignazio Genuardi. It remains to be seen where the former Chelsea midfielder will end up in the winter window, but one thing is for sure, he is intent on leaving Rennes.
