Eintracht Frankfurt’s initial offer to Paris Saint-Germain for Hugo Ekitike (21) has been rejected according to Fabrice Hawkins .
The forward has yet to feature outside the opening-day draw against FC Lorient and has been keen to find an escape route out of Les Parisiens since the summer transfer window.
Ekitike had previously rejected a move to Frankfurt when he was offered to the club as part of the deal that eventually saw Randal Kolo Muani join PSG but has now reportedly accepted a significant pay cut to facilitate a transfer in this window.
However, PSG have rejected Frankfurt’s opening offer, which was said to be a loan deal with an option to buy the striker for €20 million, as it is thought that they are willing to hold out for a fee closer to the €35 million they initially paid Reims.
With only a week left in the transfer window, time is shortening for a deal to be negotiated, but the French club are perhaps emboldened by the amount of interest from across the Premier League and Bundesliga for their wantaway striker.
There has been no shortage of suitors in this window, as Ekitike has been linked to Brentford, West Ham, Wolverhampton, and Wolfsburg.
