Manchester City have 'made contact' with French club Lille to try and sign centre-back Leny Yoro in the January transfer window.
That is according to a report by French outlet Le 10 Sport, which claims discussions have 'started' with 'several' English clubs. One of them is also said to be Manchester United.
City, who brought 2023 to a close with a 2-0 win over Sheffield United on Saturday, are always hungry to add young, emerging talent to their ranks as has been proven with several deals they have completed over the last few years. Yoro only turned 18 in November and his stock is on the rise.

Despite his youthfulness the centre-back, who is a French Under-21 international, has established himself as a regular fixture under Lille head coach Paulo Fonseca. He has made 21 appearances in all competitions and chipped in with three goals.
Yoro has already made 37 first-team appearances for the French outfit during his career, highlighting his quality and potential. Lille, according to the report, will not allow him to leave for a 'small fee' anytime soon.
It is claimed their president Olivier Letang has 'informed' City as well as other suitors that the Ligue 1 club will need to spend €90million to stand any chance of clinching his signature. Liverpool and French giants Paris Saint-Germain have also been credited with interest in the defender.
Meanwhile, City remain 'interested' in signing Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen. That is according to journalist Rudy Galetti, as cited by TBR Football, who claims City are keeping a close eye on what is an 'evolving situation'.
