Manchester United icon Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated his first goal of 2024 in a new way. He scored the only goal in a 1-0 win for Al-Nassr nine minutes from time to lead his team to a 1-0 victory against Al-Fayha in an Asian Champions League round-of-16 clash on Wednesday.
Instead of his usual 'Siu' celebration, Ronaldo jumped near the corner flag, placed his hands on his chest and looked up at the sky. Then, he cupped his ear and held out his hand, which seemed like a gesture towards the opposing team's fans.
Ronaldo's goal gives Al-Nassr a slight edge for the second leg on Wednesday. Since the start of the year, Ronaldo has only played twice due to an injury that made him miss two mid-season friendlies in China and a match against Lionel Messi's Inter Miami in the Riyadh Season Cup, a friendly tournament.

The former United and Real Madrid would return for Al-Nassr's next match in the tournament against Saudi Pro League leaders Al-Hilal. However, Al-Hilal claimed a 2-0 victory, with Ronaldo storming off after the trophy presentation and throwing his runners-up medal into the crowd.
Ronaldo, 39, recently played down retirement talk after being asked about hanging up his boots at the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards last month. He said: "Of course it will be soon, soon I mean ten years more. No I am joking, I don't know, let's see."
