It's quite the time to be a Tottenham fan. On one hand the club are playing some of the best football seen since 2019 and the Mauricio Pochettino era, but on the other there are still huge question marks over the long-term aims for the club.
Daniel Levy has even more power than ever before as chairman with his role in overseeing the day-to-day activities being heightened at this current stage.Following what was an exciting but also frustrating summer in some quarters, fans are happy to have their Tottenham back.
Levy was able to bring in a new manager after the disastrous 2022/23 campaign that sawAntonio Conte take down the building with him before Cristian Stellini was also sacked as interim boss and Ryan Mason struggled on until the end. Their approach to finding a new manager had shades of the 2021 summer that ended once more in calamity and with Nuno Espirito Santo.
Spurs, it seems, have stumbled somewhat accidentally into their ideal boss as Ange Postecoglou becomes an immediate fan favourite for everyone in the Premier League, not just adoring Tottenham followers who have taken to their Australian coach quickly.
Off-the-field issues still exist with the failure to clear out the squad leaving somewhat of a shadow over a summer of positive work in the arrivals department. The deadline day panic to sell and loan players across the pitch summed up the problems remaining but the 5-2 win over Burnley less than 24 hours later settled things down once more.
Outside of that, there are still rumblings of discontent over just where Tottenham are going and wish to go. Questions regarding just how they attempt to challenge the teams around them financially in a world of increasing transfer fees and nation-state ownership.
