Chelsea star drops huge injury update as Pochettino given answer to key problem

Chelsea injury news - Mauricio Pochettino has been handed a huge boost as Carney Chukwuemeka looks set to make a return to action soon.

Taking to Instagram, the midfielder posted a picture of himself in football boots with a caption that involved an hourglass, seemingly suggesting he will be back soon. That would be welcome news to all involved at the club, especially given their recently long list of injury troubles.

Add to that the problems that Pochettino has faced in unlocking defences early into the Premier League season too. The new head coach has four points from the opening four games with their only two losses coming against West Ham and Nottingham Forest respectively.

Both teams have looked to play without much possession and aimed to hit the Blues on the counter attack whenever possible. Given how much possession the west Londoners had and the chances that came their way, it was simply a lack of clinical edge that saw them fall to defeat.

Chukwuemeka's return could well be the solution to such an issue, given the impact he has had in the short amount of minutes received so far. The former Aston Villa midfielder started out the campaign as the number ten, looking to unlock teams when given the chance.

That was particularly on show when he scored the opening against the Hammers before an injury forced him off before half-time. It was revealed afterwards that an injury to the left knee was sustained and after some surgery, a six-week rehabilitation timeline was given.

With Chukwuemeka edging closer towards a return, that could well be his answer right in front of him, while the injury list shortens at an ideal time.
