Manchester United could be forced to pay out £90,000 per week to get Jadon Sancho off their books.
The England winger clearly has no future at Old Trafford following his very public falling out with manager Erik ten Hag. He is now widely expected to leave in the January transfer window.
West Ham recently emerged as candidates to sign him on a loan deal at the end of the current campaign. A move back to former club Borussia Dortmund now looks more realistic though and the Bundesliga giants have already launched talks with Man United regarding a possible deal.
The German club are optimistic of getting a six-month loan deal over the line and Sancho is keen to return. Despite a move being an option, the Red Devils would still have to pay out even if the 23-year-old leaves.
They are so desperate to get him off the books that they are willing to pay up to 50 percent of his massive £180k-per-week wages. Sancho still has two-and-a-half years left on his Man United contract having been signed for £73m in July 2021.
That move has been a disaster with the winger making just 82 appearances in all competitions since, scoring 12 goals. He has been exiled this term after refusing to apologise to Ten Hag for their public spat.
Sancho is aware that the relationship with his manager will not be repaired and his only focus now is regular, first-team football. He is aware that he needs far more time on the pitch should he want to force himself into Gareth Southgate ’s thinking for this summer’s Euros.
