Manchester United's Amad is keen on a return to Sunderland, where he was a success on loan last term.
The Ivorian has struggled for consistent minutes ever since his £36million move from Atalanta in 2020 but produced some of his best football at the Stadium of Light last season. Those exploits didn't further his first-team ambitions at Old Trafford however.
Amad has remained a peripheral figure, making just one substitute appearance under Erik ten Hag. As a result, the Daily Mail reports he's keen to get more minutes and rekindle his ties with the Black Cats, whom he helped lead to the Championship play-offs after scoring on nine occasions.
United have sanctioned a host of loan moves already this month for players who are struggling for minutes. Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek are among those to depart, both heading to Germany. Hannibal Mejbri and Alvaro Fernandez have also left temporarily.
Amad has not enjoyed the progression that many anticipated with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer previously talking up his potential. The Norwegian was in charge when the Ivorian moved to the Premier League from Atalanta and stated he would be given the time to develop his game.
He said back in 2021: "We have had all the paperwork, I can't see any obstacles. He's coming. I hope very soon he will be with us. I'm very excited about bringing him in. I think he's shown a few times his qualities. Of course, he has to learn to play in England, that's a different level of football. We'll give him time to develop and to express himself.
"Apart from that, I'm not really thinking too much on what we're going to do with players. Of course, we're always working long-term. That's the big thing. We have targets we need long-term for the club."
