Chelsea transfer news: Darwin Nunez has been linked with a move to Chelsea this summer, with Mauricio Pochettino hinting at the need for Premier League experience
His pace and large frame cause plenty of chaos in the final third, however technical limitations mean that he is currently far from the finished product. With some development into those areas though, the Uruguayan international has been tipped to be one of the top strikers in the world.
Speaking on an attacking signing ahead of his side's clash with Luton Town on Friday, the head coach told the media: "If you bring in a player that is not fit or needs to adapt to the Premier League, maybe you are going to spend the same time you wait for Broja, or Nkunku or Carney [Chukwuemeka]."
That suggests that while the new boss is not against a new signing, he is keen to add someone who is used to the league and can be played from the start. In Nunez, the Blues would have just that after his one-year spell with Liverpool that has seen him adjust to life in England.
It remains to be seen whether that move is a possibility though, given the huge price tag that would likely be put on such a player as well as the rivalry element.
