Anthony Gordon left 'hurt' as he gives verdict on Liverpool win over Newcastle
Anthony Gordon believes Newcastle United "should have won" yesterday's Premier League clash with Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp's side prevailed as 2-1 winners at St James' Park after two late strikes from Darwin Nunez cancelled out Gordon's first-half opener for the home side.
Liverpool found themselves a goal and a man down after 30 minutes played on Sunday afternoon, though benefitted from utilising all five substitutions available to bring about change on the pitch.
Newcastle wasted a brilliant opportunity to go two goals to the good as the game entered its final stages, Harvey Barnes not taking advantage, which soon came back to bite the Magpies as they were twice hit on the break by the Reds to end up empty-handed.

Reacting to this loss after the full-time whistle, Gordon could not comprehend ending up on the losing side and remained adamant Newcastle were deserving of all three points.
"It's hard to take, really," the ex-Everton winger told NUFC TV. "You have to go through it to be able to understand it. It is just really disappointing as the game started so well and we were in a really good place. We just couldn't get the second goal and, against a top team, that's what you have to do.
"We played really well and created the chances, but we just weren't clinical enough. That is what's going to separate us from the top teams and is something we really need to focus on improving. If we can do that, we can beat anyone. I took my chance well, which felt amazing, but it doesn't mean anything anymore."
