The European transfer window might have closed for the summer, but Liverpool are set for a seven-figure windfall thanks to one future deal.
VfL Wolfsburg have confirmed the signing of former Reds goalkeeper Kamil Grabara, with the Poland international set to complete the season with current club FC Copenhagen before moving to the Bundesliga in 2024. He is currently set to move to Germany next summer, though there is a clause in the deal which could see him make the switch prematurely in January.
The 24-year-old joined Liverpool from Polish side Ruch Chorzow in 2016. He spent five seasons on the club's books before departing for Copenhagen in a £3m deal in July 2021 without ever making an appearance for the Reds.. Impressing in Denmark over the past two seasons, he has kept 40 clean sheets from 88 appearances and won the Danish Superliga in both 2022 and 2023 (the latter part of a league and cup double), while also catching the eye in the Champions League to attract the attention of Wolfsburg.
“The manner in which VfL approached me convinced me very quickly that this is the right step for my career," Grabara told the German outfit after putting pen to paper. “That’s why it was an easy decision to move to Wolfsburg.
