Transfer deadline day is not the only important event taking place this week from an Arsenal perspective as they are about to discover their opponents in this season's Champions League.
The draw for the group stage takes place from 5pm on Thursday, August 31 - one day before the summer transfer window slams shut - from the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco and the Gunners are one of 26 teams to have already qualified with the remaining six to confirm their places following the play-off round.
Placed in Pot 2 after finishing runners-up to Manchester City in the Premier League last season - and thanks in part to the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, AS Roma and Juventus not qualifying - Arsenal cannot face Real Madrid, last season's beaten finalists Internazionale, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, RB Leipzig or Porto.
As per UEFA rules, clubs cannot be drawn against teams from the same association. So, for example, the north London outfit will avoid being paired with Man City from Pot 1 but Mikel Arteta's side can get one of Europe's big guns and football.london assesses them below.
Sevilla
Despite a poor start to the La Liga campaign - three defeats from three - Sevilla are always difficult opposition when it comes to a European fixture. En route to claiming another Europa League title last season, they knocked out Manchester United and gave Man City an almighty scare in the UEFA Super Cup earlier in the month.
Still, their record in the Champions League is not great. They've only reached the quarter-final stage twice in 10 attempts so perhaps they're a team that Arsenal would not
