Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven has warned Liverpool his side don’t fear them and set his sights on emulating Virgil van Dijk.
Spurs host Jurgen Klopp’s side in a mouth-watering Premier League clash on Saturday evening at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The game pits two of the most entertaining teams in the division against each other.
Both sides have made flying starts to the new season following disappointing campaigns last year. Tottenham have won four of their six league games so far this season and are currently in the top four.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are hot on the tails of leaders Manchester City, having won five of their six Premier League games so far this season. The 3-1 victory over Leicester City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night made it seven wins in a row in all competitions for the Reds.

But despite Liverpool’s impressive start to the season, Van de Ven, who joined Spurs in the summer from VfL Wolfsburg in a deal that could rise to £43million, has warned Jurgen Klopp’s side that his team-mates do not fear them.
He told the Press Association: “I am really looking forward to seeing the fans again in the stadium, and they will make it a good game from us.
“We are going to play our own way and play like we want to play. We don’t have fear for Liverpool. I think Virgil was the last couple of years, and this year also one of the best defenders in the Premier League, for sure.
“The year they grabbed the title, he was unbelievable and showed how important he is for Liverpool. He shows how important he is the last couple of years.
