Tottenham star Micky van de Ven has fired a clear warning to Liverpool after the 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the North London Derby. The Dutch defender put in a brilliant performance against the Gunners and has been a stalwart at the back for Ange Postecoglou's side since his arrival in the summer.
Van de Ven completed a £43million transfer to Spurs from Wolfsburg and has proved to be a shrewd signing at the back. The Dutchman has formed a strong partnershipalongside Cristian Romero — keeping two clean sheets and conceding seven goals in six Premier League appearances.
Tottenham maintained their unbeaten start to the new season as a brace from Son Heung-min saw Spurs come from behind twice against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon. Van de Ven has now insisted Tottenham are ready to face Liverpool on Saturday with a new mentality which could upset Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Speaking after the North London Derby, Van de Ven said: “I don’t think we have fear for another team. It would be strange if you have fear for another team.
«If you go into a game and are like ‘what a team they have’ then I don’t think it is positive. We are building together something we want to reach this season.
»I think it is going really well and we help each other. We fight for each other and we have to keep that going. I think it’s maybe going to be a nice year.”
