David Raya has landed on his feet at Arsenal, becoming the Gunners' first choice goalkeeper since joining the north London outfit from Brentford this summer.
The Spanish goalkeeper has dropped Aaron Ramsdale down the pecking order behind him, with the former Bees keeper having made 15 starts to the English keeper's eight for the Gunners this season so far.
However, Raya's fine status has been tarnished by recent criticism for his two blunders that almost cost his side the points against Luton Town, had it not been for the late comeback they produced.
Manager Mikel Arteta has come to the Spanish goalkeeper's defence in his side's pre-match press conference ahead of their Premier League clash with Aston Villa, praising his "incredible form".
"If you look at his form and what he has achieved since he’s been with us it’s impressive. I have three great goalkeepers and I’m really happy. I have great wingers. Some of them are on the bench but there’s no questions related to them," said the Spaniard.
