Moises Caicedo has insisted Chelsea will continue fighting after their Premier League defeat to Brentford over the weekend. The Blues saw their four-game unbeaten streak come to a grinding halt in the west London derby with the Bees picking up their third consecutive win at Stamford Bridge courtesy of goals from Ethan Pinnock and Bryan Mbuemo.
Chelsea have already suffered three defeats at home this season and another blank against Brentford made it four games without scoring this season. The problems in attack are evident with Nicolas Jackson again questioned over his decision-making and movement around the penalty box.
«It's obvious at the moment, no. So far, no,» Pochettino told reporters when asked if Chelsea have enough goals in their squad. "[Christopher] Nkunku that proved he can score in big leagues like Bundesliga was injured in the last pre-season game.
«This type of thing did not help. Then we need to recover [Armando] Broja and different circumstances Nicolas Jackson was affected for different reasons, but he's young and arriving this season and needs time to adapt. Of course that is obvious, and your analysis and some point, I think we agree.»
While the issue in front of goal is a prominent one for Pochettino, injuries continue to plague the Chelsea boss with Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk missing the weekend defeat with minor muscular concerns. On the duo being absent, Pochettino said: “Both Enzo and Misha felt something in training yesterday, small muscle injuries for them both. We hoped they would be okay to be in the squad but unfortunately they aren't quite ready. Neither of them are big issues but we didn't want to take any risks.”
