Moises Caicedo has revealed what Kendry Paez must do to fulfil his tremendous potential at Chelsea. The 16-year-old winger agreed a €20million (£17.5m) transfer from Independiente del Valle in the summer, but he won't be able to join the Blues until his 18th birthday in May 2025.
In the meantime, Chelsea have been determined to do everything they can to help the Ecuador international adjust to life in west London ahead of his arrival. Over the festive period, Paez featured at Cobham training ground before watching the Blues' dramatic win over Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.
The teenage sensation then later returned to the capital to watch Chelsea's clash against Liverpool in the final of the competition at Wembley Stadium. Paez has since returned to his homeland to kickstart Independiente del Valle's campaign in the Ecuadorian top flight.
He's also enjoyed a handful of appearances for his country, appearing off the bench in a 2-0 defeat to Italy this month. While the youngster has continued to impress since penning a deal with Chelsea, Caicedo has issued Paez a warning.
Speaking to Ecuadorian publication Elfutbolero.com, the Blues midfielder said: «They talk a lot about him, more like all the Staff, who are always watching him in the videos, who want to have him here now.
»The time he came they wanted him to stay because everyone knows that he is great and if he does his part and dedicates himself every day, in training and outside, he will be a total great."
