South African coach Pitso Mosimane will be looking for a first win at struggling Saudi Arabia club Abha on Friday as they take on fellow strugglers Al Tai in the Saudi league.
It will be Mosimane’s third game in charge since being appointed during the mid-season break.
Abha sit second from bottom in the league in Saudi with 15 points from 21 games in the 34-match season.
Al Tai are one place, and three points, above Abha in the standings.
Mosimane started at his new club earlier in February with a 1-1 home draw against Al Taawon, conceding the equaliser six minutes into stoppage time. They then lost on Sunday at Al Fahya after being ahead in the first half.
Abha have not won any of their last 10 matches and appointed Mosimane in January to replace Romanian coach George Timis.
It is Mosimane’s second appointment in Saudi Arabia where last season he helped Al Ahli Jeddah to promotion last June but then had his contract summarily cancel. Mosimane took the club to Fifa’s dispute resolution chamber to claim outstanding salary and be paid out the rest of his two-year contract. He won an award of over 1-milion US Dollars.
In between Mosimane, 59, spent five months at Al Wahda in the United Arab Emirates from July to November before being fired.
Friday’s opponents Al Tai have collected only one point from theirn last six Saudi league matches.
