Football fans have heaped praise on Ipswich Town forward Wes Burns for scoring an incredible goal against Coventry City - suggesting that it might even be better than Alejandro Garnacho's overhead kick for Manchester United.
Burns picked the ball up on the right wing after a classy switch before beating his man and hitting an outside foot shot past the helpless Bradley Collins in net.
His strike sent Portman Road wild as he and his team-mates ran off to celebrate the goal that put them 2-0 up just before half-time.
The strike ended up being the deciding goal, with Brandon Williams scoring an unfortunate own goal in the 96th minute as the clash ended 2-1.
With Ipswich sitting second in the Championship, fans have praised their style of play this season but all they could talk about after the match was that strike from Burns.
Taking to X, an Ipswich Town supporter suggested that Burns' strike will go down as the best in the club's history.
He said: 'Perhaps the best goal I’ve ever seen Ipswich Town score…. Absolutely incredible!!'
Another fan went one step further as he dubbed the goal as 'quite possibly one of the best ever scored in the Championship', and it's hard to argue with that statement.
It was clear that the world of football was impressed with the goal as Mail Sport's Dominic King compared the strike with that of Alejandro Garnacho's against Everton recently.
'There was plenty of chatter last week about the best goal you will ever see etc…
'As good as the Garnacho overhead kick was, this is what football is all about,' he said regarding Burns' finish.
Kieran McKenna's Ipswich are on course to achieve back-to-back promotions and find themselves in the Premier League next season.
