Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham could really profit from their attacking options in Destiny Udogie, James Maddison and Son Heung-min down the left flank in the 2023/24 season
Despite playing two friendlies instead of the scheduled three, Ange Postecoglou can take a number of positives from Tottenham's Asia-Pacific pre-season tour. The newly-appointed head coach has given fans a glimpse of what is to come during the 2023/24 season and beyond after playing some very entertaining football during their fixtures against West Ham and Lion City Sailors.
Tottenham's new signings have fitted in incredibly well, with Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison and Manor Solomon all impressing in their match time. The summer tour has also given supporters the opportunity to watch Destiny Udogie for the very first time after spending the 2022/23 season back on loan with Udinese following his transfer to N17 from the Italian club.
The 20-year-old has wowed in his 90 minutes of action and Postecoglou and Tottenham appear to have an extremely talented player on their hands. Operating as a left wing-back for Udinese and demonstrating that he can have a huge influence in the final third with regular goals and assists, the Italy under-21 ace looks destined to play a crucial part for Spurs going forward.
Making a good run down the left flank that Son picked out, Udogie cut the ball back first time to Maddison, who in turn put the ball on a plate for Kane but he unfortunately dragged his shot wide. It was excellent play from Tottenham and possibly a sign of things to come down the left.
