Amad Diallo has shot down a suggestion he would be departing Manchester United to play in the Africa Cup of Nations later this month.

Sky Sports posted a breakdown of all the Premier League players who will be taking part in the tournament, with Amad listed alongside his United teammates Andre Onana and Sofyan Amrabat. Amad made his return from a serious knee injury in the defeat to Nottingham Forest last weekend and has been overlooked by hosts Ivory Coast as they go in search of a historic title.

It means Amad will remain at United in what will be a crucial month for both him and the club. The Ivorian showed great promise in his cameo against Forest and could be in line for an appearance against Wigan in the FA Cup next week.

United will only play three matches this month if they win at the DW Stadium and face the prospect of just two games if they crash out of the FA Cup in the third round. It is understood that United will listen to any loan offers for Amad as he looks to make up for lost time this month.

He is believed to be attracting attention from teams at the top end of the Championship as well as those near the bottom of the Premier League. Amad was crowned PFA Championship Fans' Player of the Year after netting 14 goals and notching four assists while on loan at Sunderland last season.
