Former Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner has been sounded out by Olympique Lyonnais owner John Textor with a view to replace Laurent Blanc, according to a report from L’Equipe.
The 1998 World Cup winner with France is badly struggling in his first full season at the helm of Les Gones. After a winless pre-season, Lyon are bottom of the league after drawing one and losing three of their four opening Ligue 1 games. It is widely expected that Blanc will be dismissed as soon as Textor finds his replacement in the Groupama Stadium hot seat.
L’Equipe broke the news yesterday that former Chelsea coach Graham Potter entered into talks with the American businessman. The English manager reportedly rejected the opportunity to coach Les Gones. Reports emerged this Thursday that former Wolves and Spain manager Julen Lopetegui is also being considered.
Now, it transpires that Glasner, who won the 2022 Europa League with Eintracht, is the latest candidate to replace Blanc. The Austrian is a free agent since his dismissal as head of Die Adler at the end of the past season. The outlet understands that talks are set to continue between Glasner and Textor.
