Mauricio Pochettino's Chelsea side recorded a 4-3 win over Manchester United on Thursday evening following an incredible finish to a thrilling contest at Stamford Bridge. Looking set to fall to defeat on home soil, Cole Palmer proved to be the hero with a late double in the final seconds of the match.
The Blues made the perfect start to the encounter with Conor Gallagher opening the scoring after four minutes with a low effort that Andre Onana couldn't keep out. It was to then get even better for the hosts 15 minutes later as Palmer doubled their tally from the penalty spot.
Having looked extremely comfortable with the Blues on top and limiting the visitors to very little, the Red Devils were handed a lifeline not long before half-time with Alejandro Garnacho capitalising on a loose pass from Moises Caicedo to run through and net. Five minutes later and United had restored parity after Bruno Fernandes expertly found the bottom corner with a fine header from Diogo Dalot's cross after a swift break.
The turnaround was then complete midway through the second half as Garnacho took full advantage of some gaping holes in the Chelsea backline to head home Antony's exceptional cross. However, there was to be a late twist deep into stoppage time with Palmer netting another penalty and then seeing his deflected strike go in to spark wild scenes.
Here are four things we spotted in the game between the sides at Stamford Bridge.
