Pep Lijnders has indicated Liverpool will not dip into the transfer market this month despite their lengthy absentee list - and will instead continue to put faith in their Academy players.

Liverpool were already without the injured Andy Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas, Dominik Szoboszlai, Joel Matip, Ben Doak, Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic with both Mohamed Salah and Wataru Endo away on international duty.

It means 20-year-old right-back Conor Bradley is in contention for a start in the League Cup semi-final first leg at home to Fulham on Wednesday having joined Bobby Clark in impressing when introduced for the final 15 minutes at the Emirates.
And Lijnders believes Liverpool's squad overhaul in the summer and the impact of Academy graduates such as Jarell Quansah this season has lessened the need to further strengthen this month.
"We spent a lot money in the summer," said the Reds assistant manager. "We really invested in the squad, the ownership really brought in the right players. Even when you have the injuries we have at the moment, they will be back in not that long hopefully.
