Mauricio Pochettino's first line-up in charge of Chelsea is set to include eight debutants and hold an average age of just 20, according to reports.
The Argentine, who was brought in this summer by Blues chairman Todd Boehly following a disappointing campaign at Stamford Bridge last season, will kickstart his Chelsea career with a pre-season friendly against Wrexham on Wednesday.
Pochettino is reportedly planning to put his trust in youth against the newly-promoted League Two outfit and offer his young stars an opportunity to prove themselves before facing Brighton, Newcastle, Fulham and Borussia Dortmund during the remainder of Chelsea's pre-season tour in America.
The west London club have undergone a significant rebuild over the past year, splashing out over £600million on a glut of new players including Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk, Raheem Sterling and Christopher Nkunku.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have sold the likes of Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount and Kai Havertz to Premier League rivals, and experienced players such as N'Golo Kante, Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy to Saudi Arabian outfits.
According to Football London, who were at the Chelsea training camp, Pochettino is set to name a starting line-up of: Lucas Bergstrom; Malo Gusto, Trevoh Chalobah, Bashir Humphreys, Marc Cucurella; Cesare Casadei, Andrey Santos, Diego Moreira; Carney Chukwuemeka, Ian Maatsen, Nicolas Jackson.
Should the Argentine opt for this side, the Blues would line up with almost an entire team of debutants, with Chalobah, Cucurella and Chukwuemeka the only players having already starred for Chelsea.
