The Premier League would have no choice but to relegate Manchester City if they are found guilty of financial charges - with their case 'very different' to Everton's.
That's the view of former Sky Sports reporter Geoff Shreeves, who is certain that league bosses will have to demote the reigning champions if a guilty verdict is returned. City deny all 115 allegations made against them by the Premier League last February.
Everton were given a 10-point deduction in November - the heaviest sporting sanction in the 135-year history of English top-flight football - after breaching Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR). The Blues appealed against the penalty, calling it "unjust" and "disproportionate".

A verdict on the appeal is expected this week. Everton and Nottingham Forest were charged again in January for an alleged breach of PSR rules.
City, meanwhile, won the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup last year with their financial charges hanging over them. Premier league chief executive Richard Masters confirmed a date has been set for City's hearing but would not share any further details.
Shreeves, who worked for Sky Sports for over 30 years, told Lucky Block: "The Everton and Manchester City charges are very different. You can't compare the two directly and Everton were in dialogue with the Premier League all the way through their process."
