Milan Skriniar (28) faces a lengthy absence after suffering an ankle injury during Paris Saint-Germain’s Trophée des Champions victory over Toulouse FC on Wednesday.
Skriniar, who joined PSG from Inter Milan on a free transfer in the summer, came off in the 71st minute of Wednesday’s 2-0 victory at the Parc des Princes. Les Parisiens now fear the worst for Skriniar and believe that the injury sustained to his left ankle will see him miss multiple months, according to RMC Sport. The Slovakian international could even be out until the end of the season with surgery an option that will be considered.
He will join Presnel Kimpembe, who also recently underwent surgery on his ankle, on the sidelines. The Frenchman has not featured since February 2023 but could make his return before the end of the season after undergoing surgery on the achilles tendon injury for the second time earlier in January.
Lucas Beraldo replaced Skriniar and made his PSG debut. The Brazilian could now be set to play a more prominent role in the coming weeks and months.
