Linfield captain Jamie Mulgrew
Linfield captain Jamie Mulgrew has signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at Windsor Park until his 39th birthday.
The new deal ends any speculation that the veteran midfielder would retire this summer, with Mulgrew now signed-up for the 2024/25 season.
Linfield boss David Healy said: “Jamie has been an exceptional player for Linfield for almost 20 years now, winning it all and is one of the club's all-time greats.
"His performances this season have without a doubt shown that he is as hungry as ever to compete at the highest levels. Jamie's leadership qualities are second to none and I’m delighted that he is staying with the club for at least one more season.”
Mulgrew, who turns 38 in June, joined the Blues from arch-rivals Glentoran in 2005. He has won ten league winners’ medals and lifted the Irish Cup on seven occasions.
