Linfield are hopeful that Chris McKee will commit his future to the club
Linfield have offered experienced players Kirk Millar and Matthew Clarke contract extensions and remain hopeful that striker Chris McKee will sign a new deal.
The Belfast Telegraph also understands that Falkirk playmaker Callumn Morrison is set to join the Blues in the summer.
Linfield, currently second in the Premiership table, in the Quarter-Finals of the Irish Cup and Final of the BetMcLean Cup, are aiming for a big finish to this season and they are busy building for the future.
In recent weeks captain Jamie Mulgrew, Chris Shields, Kyle McClean and Euan East all agreed new contracts and the aim at Windsor Park is to tie down several more existing players.
Sunday Life Sport revealed earlier in February that 21-year-old forward McKee could be on his way out of the club at the end of the season when his current deal runs out with negotiations surrounding a new one yet to have brought a positive outcome.
Linfield sources say a two year improved contract offer remains on the table for McKee and they are hopeful that he will commit to the club feeling that the deal is appropriate for the age of the player and development still in the ex-Rangers youngster.
The Blues are also keen on retaining the services of full-back Clarke and winger Millar, both of whom have been at Windsor throughout David Healy’s successful reign as manager.
Clarke (29) is in the middle of his testimonial season with his benefit game scheduled to take place this summer while should Millar (31) stay he will be granted a testimonial for his long service to the club.
