Chambers has started all 12 of his League One games since joining on a short-term loan in January, recording three assists and five clean sheets. His 72nd-minute exit against Leyton Orient this weekend was the first time he had failed to complete a full 90 minutes, but he still managed to win six aerial duels.
He played in his natural left-back role for the match, although has mostly played as part of a back three. The teenager has mightily impressed during his first few weeks at the DW Stadium, so much so manager Shaun Maloney admitted last month: “Every game now, we rely on Luke Chambers and he is 19.”
Chambers has made four senior appearances for Liverpool at left-back, making his cameo debut under Jurgen Klopp in the 3-1 Carabao Cup third round win over Leicester in September. His first start came a month later in the 5-1 Europa League win over Toulouse.
