A Liverpool pub run by a local "hero" has reopened after a £280,000 investment.
The Prince George, on Longmoor Lane in Fazakerley, reopened on Thursday, March 28 after Proper Pubs, a division of Admiral Taverns, commissioned a revamp. Proper Pubs, which has more than 200 pubs across the UK, said the pub "holds a very important place" in the north Liverpool area.
Behind the bar is "community hero and passionate operator", Toni Rowe, who grew up in the area and lives locally. Having worked in the industry for five years, Toni said she was looking forward to running the pub.

Inside, the pub has had a full refurbishment including the creation of a designated darts area with two boards, and a DJ area where customers can enjoy live entertainment on a regular basis. Outside, the pub features a newly renovated seating area for visitors to soak up the sun as the summer months approach.
To celebrate the opening night, customers were given a complimentary glass of prosecco and treated to a live performance from local singer, Neil McCleary. Toni Rowe, operator of The Prince George, said: "I look forward to inviting customers, both old and new, to see the transformation and supporting the local community in any way we can.
"We’ll be starting by collecting money for the local food bank and raising funds to get a defibrillator installed. Pubs are the hub of their local community, and we can't wait to be the hub of Fazakerley."
