Fabrizio Romano reports that Lyon’s young centre-back, Castello Lukeba, is now the subject of further interest from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig.
The German club has submitted a new offer for the 20-year-old defender, who has fast become Ligue 1’s leading young centre-back over the last two seasons, said to be €32m fee while also including a sell-on clause. The player, meanwhile, has already agreed to a five-year deal with the Bundesliga outfit, who finished third last season to secure a return to the Champions League for the new campaign. Lukeba, reports Romano, is keen to move on after two years in the OL first team. Lyon, by contrast, missed out on European football altogether, despite a strong squad that included returning heroes Corentin Tolisso and Alexandre Lacazette.
Lyon have reportedly set a price of €35m for those clubs looking to sign Lukeba and have already turned down a first offer from Leipzig, a proposal consisting of €26m as a base fee, along with €6m in bonuses.
