According to L’Équipe , Mathieu Bodmer will extend his contract with Le Havre AC as their sporting director until 2027.
The former Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain player became the sporting director for Le Havre in 2022, and through his networks managed to use the club’s meagre resources to great effect.
The oldest club in France won Ligue 2 last season, with Bodmer’s focus on bringing in a mix of young and experienced talent helping to create a balanced squad. This season, results have begun to decline in recent weeks, and Le Havre finds itself only a point above the bottom three.
However, they have managed so far to avoid ever being in the relegation zone, and Bodmer’s position remains highly valued, with parties keen to extend past the end of his contract in June.
On Bodmer’s part, he reportedly enjoys his life in Normandy, and there are several projects at the club from the academy up to the first team that he wishes to see through to their conclusion.
