Paris Saint-Germain's Danilo Pereira said that Luis Enrique's arrival on the bench has given them a serenity with which they face the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona.
"I feel that the pressure is different, the coach transmits serenity and calm, something that is important in matches like this. You have to approach them calmly, thinking only about that game," said the midfielder, who arrived in the French capital in 2020 from Porto.
That serenity lies in the fact that Luis Enrique "gives everyone opportunities to show themselves" and they are "more available" and "morale is high, which is noticeable in training and in matches" but also when it comes to facing difficult moments "with our heads held high".
"The squad is calm, we know it's a difficult game, that we have to eliminate a great team, but we are calm, with a lot of serenity, that's how you can achieve great things. The mood is like this, it's the way to be closer to victory," he said.
The player gave Barcelona the role of favourites, because of the five Champions Leagues they have won, but pointed out that "in a tie like this you have to prove it on the pitch".
He acknowledged that there is a special rivalry between the two teams because of the duels they have played against each other in the past and because of the signings between the two clubs.
Danilo praised Lamine Yamal, "a magnificent young player with great one-on-one ability", but said that "we must not focus on just one player, but on the team as a whole".
