Rodrigo Bentancur has taken the next step in his recovery from injury by joining his Tottenham teammates for their warm-up ahead of training at Hotspur Way on Thursday. An influential player for the Lilywhites ever since his move from Juventus in January 2022, the midfielder has not played for Spurs since February after sustaining an ACL injury in their defeat at Leicester City.
Working hard behind the scenes as he looks to work his way back to fitness as soon as possible, his involvement in the warm-up on Thursday alongside players such as Emerson Royal and Cristian Romero was simply the next step of his rehab. The opportunity to join his teammates will have come as a big boost to the player, though, after so much individual work since his injury at the beginning of the year.
football.london understands that the player has not returned to training and once the warm-up was over, Bentancur simply returned to doing individual work.
Speaking at the beginning of the month, Ange Postecoglou admitted that the Uruguayan was pushing to be involved in training but it would be more than likely November when he returns.
«There's not a defined [comeback date] but he is getting closer. I think probably around November time, we’d be looking to reintegrate him into it,» said the 58-year-old. «He’s ticking all the boxes so far. He’s really keen.
