'Rolls-Royce of a player' - Liverpool star named as Premier League player of season so far
Don Hutchison has named Liverpool summer signing Dominik Szoboszlai as his player of the season so far in the Premier League.
Liverpool met the £60m release clause in his RB Leipzig contract to make Szoboszlai the fourth biggest transfer in the club's history. And, despite that huge fee, and the pressure that came with taking the No.8 shirt made legendary by his hero Steven Gerrard, the Hungary captain has certainly delivered.
Szoboszlai has been instrumental in the Reds' promising start to the campaign. He has scored two stunning goals in 11 appearances to help Jurgen Klopp's side up to fourth in the early Premier League standings, progress to the last 16 of the Carabao Cup, and make it maximum points from their opening Europa League group games.
While fellow midfield arrivals Alexis Mac Allister and Wataru Endo have yet to find their feet at Anfield, Szoboszlai has been a roaring success. So much so that former Liverpool midfielder Hutchison believes the 22-year-old is currently the top performer in the English top flight.

Hutchison, speaking to ESPN, said: “Dominik Szoboszlai, in my opinion, is just a Rolls-Royce of a player. I’d seen him quite a few times when he was playing for Hungary and playing in the Bundesliga.
“And I knew how good he was, but to come into this Liverpool team in a team that’s had quite a few red cards already and still standing out, for me, I think he’s player of the season.”
