Ruben Amorim has laughed off questions regarding his future after Sporting Clube de Portugal are reportedly considering a move for Anthony Barry.
The Portuguese boss has emerged as a top target for the club to replace Jurgen Klopp in the home dugout at Anfield. The Reds' search for a new manager took a fresh turn after previous frontrunner Xabi Alonso announced he would be staying at Bayer Leverkusen for the 2024/25 season.

Barry is currently Thomas Tuchel's number two at the Bundesliga outfit. Brighton & Hove Albion's Roberto De Zerbi is another reported candidate to replace Klopp.
When asked if he was aware of the news about Barry amid Liverpool's interest, Amorim laughed it off during his press-conference. He said: "The only thing that bothers me is that the club already have a replacement for me. But even today, I told Hugo Viena (sporting director) to stay calm, it's not quite like that. That was the one thing that caught my eye."
On whether rumours about his future has had an impact in the dressing room, Amorim added: "No, because this is also part of the players' lives. If the players are being linked with other clubs maybe, but when it's the coach, no. The coach is a Sporting coach and they know they want to win titles with Sporting, like me."
