Sean Dyche dealt Everton injury blow ahead of Tottenham clash as Brennan Johnson hope emerges

Everton look set to be without Abdoulaye Doucoure when they take on Tottenham in the Premier League this weekend. Doucoure has been a key player in Sean Dyche's side this season, scoring six goals so far this term.

The French midfielder was absent against Fulham as the Toffees crashed out of the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on penalties last night. Dyche has now confirmed that the 30-year-old won't be ready to feature when Everton travel to Tottenham on Saturday.

«Probably not at the weekend but going forward, we're hopeful,» Dyche said. «He's super-fit, as you all know, his body seems — in my experience and his — he's a good healer so we're hopeful it settles down quickly.»

Doucoure suffered a hamstring injury in last weekend's 2-0 win at Burnley in the Premier League and it's unclear when he will return. Another issue facing Everton is the availability of Vitalii Mykolenko after he was absent for a second straight game in a row.

Seamus Coleman and Ashley Young have also been absent in recent fixtures sparking somewhat of an injury crisis at Goodison Park. Asked if any players could be back against Spurs, Dyche said: «The next three days are going to be really important.

»We'll see and make sure there's nothing from tonight. Of course, because we are a bit stretched so we'll see."
