Andre Onana could make his first start at the Africa Cup of Nations on Friday, when Cameroon take on Senegal in a crucial match in Group C
The Manchester United goalkeeper won a race against time to reach Ivory Coast in time for Cameroon's AFCON opener, only to be left out of the squad for the 1-1 draw against Guinea.
Onana agreed to join the Indomitable Lions squad late, having played in goal during United's 2-2 draw against Tottenham on January 14.
The goalkeeper travelled 4,800 miles to Ivory Coast from Liverpool's John Lennon airport on a private jet, but was forced to land in Abidjan due to heavy fog in Yamoussoukro, where Cameroon were scheduled to play their tournament opener.
Despite the three-hour drive between the Ivorian capital and Yamoussoukro, Onana reached the stadium before kick-off but was omitted from the squad anyway and to be consoled by Senegal legend El Hadji Diouf.
Fabrice Ondoa, who is Onana's distant cousin and plays in the French third division, started in goal, with substitute goalkeepers Devis Epassy and Simon Ngapandouetnbu on the bench.
Cameroon face Senegal in their second group game on Friday afternoon, when Onana is expected to return in goal.
