The 27-year-old made the move to Spurs from Real Madrid in 2020, and he featured on 67 occasions for the capital outfit during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 campaigns.
Reguilon spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan with Atletico Madrid, playing 12 times, before returning to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last summer.
The Spaniard has said that incoming head coach Postecoglou informed him that he would be a part of the Tottenham squad for the 2023-24 season, but the defender joined Manchester United on loan in the latter stages of the summer transfer window.
«During pre-season I was very happy and he was happy with me, [as were] the staff,» he told The Times.
«I was playing like a normal player, all the games. The week before, I went to see him. 'You want me at the club?', 'Yes, I have to do a list and you are in my squad'.
»It was strange. The next day I was out of training and I didn't know what happened.
«I know I can play for Spurs, but in many aspects in football the player doesn't have control. And I don't want to stay to sit in the stadium watching. I am 27, I have too much football to live.
»I don't understand why one day is 'yes' and next day is 'no' but… I don't think it [was for a] performance reason, I think it's another reason; this is football, this is business."
Reguilon was signed by Man United following an injury to Luke Shaw, and he made 12 appearances for the Red Devils in the first half of the 2023-24 campaign, including nine outings in the Premier League.
