And when asked about whether he believes Tottenham could win the league this season, his response was curt yet hilarious.
When asked by Sky Sports, Fergie gave a blunt: «No.»
The Scotsman then burst into laughter with the reporter, who is a Tottenham fan.
«I mean, (19)61 was the last time that they won it — well that's a long time,» he added.
«But the opposition today with Liverpool and Manchester City being so powerful in the Premier League, even for United.»
Ferguson was then asked if Spurs were more likely to win the league than United, to which he replied: «No chance.»
United have not won the Premier League since the 2012/13 season, Ferguson's last season in charge before retiring.
