Sir Alex Ferguson laughs off Tottenham Premier League title chances brutal two-word verdict

Sir Alex Ferguson, the legendary former Manchester United boss, has stated that he doesn't believe Tottenham will ever win the Premier League title. This comes despite Tottenham's impressive performance under Ange Postecoglou this season.

The fiery Scot has previously shared his thoughts on Tottenham, famously saying 'Lads, it's Tottenham' 15 years ago to motivate his team. Despite Tottenham's recent success under Ange Postecoglou,Sir Alex's opinion hasn't changed.

In a thrilling match vs Brighton on Saturday, Brennan Johnson scored a rare goal in the 96th minute, securing Tottenham's comeback. This was after Pape Matar Sarr equalised following Pascal Gross' first-half penalty for Brighton. The victory further separates Tottenham from Manchester United, who play on Sunday afternoon.

But Ferguson has made fresh comments about Spurs while at Newbury Racecourse, just before Tottenham secured their dramatic last-minute home victory over Brighton, moving them to fourth in the table. Despite this, Ferguson remains sceptical about Tottenham's chances of competing for top honours.

When asked by Sky Sports if he thought Spurs would ever win the Premier League, Ferguson laughed and said: «No!» He added: «No, '61 was the last time they won it, well that's a long time. The opposition today with Liverpool and Manchester City being so powerful in the Premier League. Even for United now, we're having to fight.»

When questioned if Spurs were more likely to win a league title before United win another one, he responded: «No chance!» Under Erik ten Hag's leadership, United have had a tough season, losing nine of their 23 league games.
