Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim is favourite to succeed Jurgen Klopp and the Portuguese tactician's replacement is already being mooted.
According to The Times, Bayern Munich assistant manager Anthony Barry is being considered as the 35-year-old's successor - should he make the plunge into Premier League management. Barry is currently Thomas Tuchel's number two in Bavaria after drumming up a relationship with the German during their spell with Chelsea.
Barry, who is from Liverpool and was a trainee at Everton early in his playing career, spent seven years at Wigan Athletic but has experience internationally with the Republic of Ireland and Belgium.

Liverpool's managerial quest took a fresh turn this week when it was revealed that Xabi Alonso wouldn't feature on the final list of candidates to replace Klopp, following his nine years of service at Anfield.
The Spaniard announced in a press conference that he would steer Bayer Leverkusen in his second full season prior to a dramatic 2-1 win over Hoffenheim which moved them 13 points clear, after Bayern's defeat at home to Leverkusen.
Brighton & Hove Albion's Roberto De Zerbii is another reported candidate to replace Klopp but he is also linked with the soon-to-be vacant role at the Allianz Arena as Tuchel is set to depart. As a result, Barry is said to be likely to move on from the Bundesliga despite rejecting a series of offers to become a head coach - including Ireland after Stephen Kenny's departure in November.
