Former Liverpool midfielder Gary McAllister insists Steven Gerrard will make a return to the Premier League as a manager at some point.
The two first played together at Anfield before McAllister joined Gerrard’s coaching staff when he became manager of Rangers. The former England international led the Gers to their first Scottish league title since 2011, ending Celtic's bid to achieve 10 in a row.
Gerrard, though, departed Ibrox in November 2021, joining Aston Villa. But after a poor start to the season, he was sacked after less than a year in charge at Villa Park and replaced by Unai Emery, who would then guide the club to a place in this season's Europa Conference League.

The Kop icon had been linked with several jobs while he was unemployed before deciding to join the Saudi football revolution by becoming the new manager of Al-Ettifaq. The move, though, was a surprising one, as Gerrard originally distanced himself from a move to Saudi Arabia before accepting an offer from the Saudi Pro League club.
But McAllister believes it won't be long before his former team-mate is back managing on home soil.
"Absolutely," the Scot replied when asked by Sky Sports News if Gerrard would return to the Premier League one day.
"I think he was close to a couple of clubs here, and he'll maybe be a little bit disappointed. But the team in Saudi wanted him and he's gone.
“He's started well and he's enjoying it. The levels and everything in around football in Saudi are obviously miles behind the Premier League in England where everything is supreme.
