Sven-Goran Eriksson has shared his delight at being surprised by Jurgen Klopp ahead of taking charge of Liverpool Legends.
The Swede, who revealed he is suffering with terminal cancer earlier this year, fulfilled a lifelong dream to manage the Reds by overseeing the Legends’ 4-2 victory over Ajax on Saturday.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, the Swede revealed he had never met Klopp. But ahead of overseeing a training session that evening, the Liverpool manager surprised Eriksson by coming to see him at the AXA Training Centre.

And the 76-year-old admitted it was an honour to meet Klopp as he paid tribute to the Reds boss.
“It was the first time I met him,” he said. “I was surprised he came to the dressing room before training.
“He said something to the team, a great man, a great manager doing extremely well with Liverpool. Can win in Europe, can win in the Premier League this season - it was an honour to meet him for sure.”
Eriksson also paid tribute to Liverpool Legends captain Steven Gerrard, with the England international being the only player in the Reds squad he had previously managed.
“Steven Gerrard is an extremely good footballer and he still can do it,” he said. “He’s fit as well, not as fit as you (Fernando Torres, who was sat next to him).
“It’s great to see all these football players, even in Ajax. I knew some, of course ex-Liverpool players. Great, great, great, it was a big honour to sit next to them and see them playing good football.”
