Radu Dragusin could be forgiven for having the odd moment of doubt over his move to Tottenham Hotspur since arriving almost exactly a month ago.
For the Romanian, who turned 22 this month, put pen to paper on his transfer from Genoa in January in exactly the week that Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven were both fit and ready to start together again at the back for Tottenham. So Dragusin went from playing every single minute of the Serie A season as Genoa's defensive star to playing just seven minutes across his first five matches for Spurs.
It perhaps says plenty about his character that he still made the choice to move to Tottenham, choosing them over Bayern Munich, despite knowing that Romero and Van de Ven were nearing their return. It also showcased his confidence in his own ability to force his way into Ange Postecoglou's plans as time goes on.
Yet there still might be the odd glance across to Munich, where his Tottenham team-mate — on paper at least — Eric Dier was signed on loan initially after Dragusin said no to the Bavarian giants and the 30-year-old has started three matches in a row since arriving in Germany. It's just the way football fate works sometimes.
So faced with a lack of football compared to what came before and not even being used as a substitute on Saturday in Spurs' match against Brighton, the Romanian could have sat there moping in his seat, wondering what he had got himself into. Others have done that over the years.
However, Dragusin was not in his seat. Instead as Brennan Johnson's dramatic 96th minute hit the back of the net, the Romanian was off like a shot from the dugout, sprinting half the length of the pitch and he was the first of the subs to hug the goalscorer, before Pape Matar Sarr
