The Yorkshire Pudding Wrap from the Liverpool Christmas Markets was expensive but a delight

I’m not usually one to try every single festive item on offer over the holidays. I only recently tried a Gregg’s Festive Bake for the first time, and I’ll usually just get the odd Costa Hot Chocolate.

However, since I was down at the Christmas Markets on their opening day, I figured it was a rite of passage that I had to accomplish.

It wasn’t hard to find the place where dreams are made of. The Yorkshire Pudding Wrap Co. was practically drawing me in as I made my way around the markets to find it.

There is a giant yorkshire pudding on offer, or the classic wrap. While roast turkey is probably a more festive staple, I opted for roast pork.

The staff working the stall informed me that I had arrived just before a big rush was expected to happen. Bear in mind that I showed up only half an hour after the markets officially opened, so it’s clear that they are a big winner of the Christmas markets.

I must say, I wasn’t too keen on the price. The ECHO has reported on the prices of the market this year, and while I knew it wouldn’t be cheap, I wasn’t expecting the wraps to be £12.

Regardless, I watched in anticipation as my wrap was constructed. Potato, stuffing, pork, green beans, carrots and gravy, all wrapped up like a holiday burrito. I decided against adding cranberry or mint sauce - while it’s a need for me on a roast dinner, I wanted to try the wrap as it was for the first time.

The wrap felt like three meals in one - perfect if you need filling up on a cold Winter’s day. I think I could have eaten a wrap made entirely of just the potatoes and the stuffing, as while the other parts were very good, those two components were the winners for me.
