Thomas Muller sends five-word message to Kai Havertz ahead of Arsenal Champions League clash

Thomas Muller has sent a five-word message to Kai Havertz ahead of Arsenal's Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

The Gunners qualified for the last eight of the competition after overcoming Porto in dramatic circumstances earlier this week. Having been dealt with a sucker punch of a late Galeno goal at Estadio do Dragao in the first leg, Mikel Arteta's men were able to level the tie courtesy of Leandro Trossard goal at the Emirates Stadium. Still though, penalties were required and David Raya was able to step up and be the hero, saving two spot-kicks.

On Friday, Arsenal found out through the Champions League draw in Nyon that their reward for getting past the round of 16 for the first time in 14 years is a potential semi-final against Real Madrid or Manchester City. First though they will need to overcome the daunting task of a two-legged clash with Bayern Munich.

Arsenal's recent Champions League history has been dogged by defeats to Bayern, with the German champions winning each of their last three encounters 5-1. In fact, in the eight times the pair have met since 2012, Bayern have wracked up an aggregate score of 21-9.

Muller was involved in all but one of these clashes between the two sides, and is expected to feature when they meet up next month. His connection to this fixture doesn't end there, as the 34-year-old will be playing up against his German international teammate Havertz in the game. Muller and Havertz have played together 18 times for Germany. Reacting to the draw on social media, Muller called out Havertz ahead of the clash, which he admits he's looking forward to.
